Veterinary Case of the MonthRazor
Being six months old and weighing just 7 pounds, there isn't a lot you can do against a human with sheep shears (even if you are feisty, yippy and can run like the wind). That seems to be the situation this little dog found himself in. We want to give the benefit of the doubt to the person who injured him and hope that is was accidental. Perhaps they meant to shave his long hair to help him tolerate the summer heat. Instead, along with the worst grooming job we've ever seen, he was given deep lacerations along the entire length of his spine. He ended up sitting along the side of a very busy road.

Was he dumped or did he escape? We will never know. A passer by, noticing him there for some time, stopped and scooped him up. Seeing his injury, she brought him in to Dr. Abel on emergency. It has been a long, tedious and painful recovery. But "Razer" holds no grudges. He has been adopted and is almost completely healed, though the scar will remain. He has children to play with, cats to chase and an old dog who has taken him under her wing. Life is sweet!
