About Us
Dr. Abel Hittinger and Dr. Jobe Hittinger are brothers who grew up in Richland County attending Madison Local Schools. Both had decided on a career in Veterinary Medicine while still in Junior High School. They both majored in Animal Sciences and received their Bachelors of Science degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus. They went on to attend The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine where they both received a doctorate. After obtaining Medical Licenses in 1998, they began their practice at Appleseed Valley Veterinary Hospital. In 2003 they acquired Clearfork Veterinary Hospital in Bellville, Ohio.
Doctor Abel has two daughters, Grace and Natalie. They live in Lexington and recently adopted 2 kittens. Dr. Abel's hobbies include running, MMA and coaching children's soccer.
Doctor Jobe has two children, Hannah and Jacob. They live in Mansfield with their 2 cats, leopard gecko, and turtle. In his free time, Dr. Jobe enjoys road biking, Buckeye football and culinary arts.
Welcome, Dr. Jessica Arth!
Dr. Arth grew up in the Cleveland, Ohio area. After graduating high school, she went on to attend Ohio University and Cleveland State Universitywhere she majored in Biology. Shortly after graduating with her Bachelors of Science degree, Dr. Arth was accepted into The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She received her doctorate in June 2011, and joined Drs. Hittinger’s practice in August 2011.
Dr. Arth now resides in Lexington. She made the move with her two cats, GOB and Buster, and her dog, Cash. She enjoys outdoor activities and is an active member of a sailing team.
Dr. Abel, Dr. Jobe and Dr. Jessicaall spend numerous hours in continuing education classes and seminars enabling them to provide progressive medical care for their patients. They believe in practicing medicine in the least invasive manner, as well as promoting preventative medicine for their patients. Our Doctors are constantly working to improve the quality of life for their patients, always “treating your pet like a member of the family”.
